In spite a rousing speech at the Democratic National Convention for Joe Biden, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is still business campaigning for someone other than the former Vice President.
In a statement obtained by the Daily Telegraph USA, Sanders, “on Saturday will host two ‘Fighting for Justice’ virtual town halls featuring local leaders, activists and working people in Colorado and Texas to discuss the need for urgent congressional action on the many crises facing the nation.
“The town halls follow Sanders’ similar events in recent weeks featuring leaders from Kentucky, West Virginia, Iowa, and Wisconsin, and will call on voters to hold Republican leaders accountable for their inaction.
“Sanders’ Colorado-focused town hall will feature Rep. Joe Neguse and former Colorado State Rep. Joe Salazar, as well as panelists from Colorado People’s Action, Colorado Working Families Party, Aurora Education Association, and COLOR.
“Sanders’ Texas-focused hall will feature former presidential candidate and former Rep. Beto O’Rourke, U.S. House candidate Julie Oliver, and Travis County DA candidate José Garza, as well as panelists from JOLT Action, and Texas Organizing Project.
“Both town halls will be live-streamed at live.berniesanders.com and on Sanders’ social media pages. Participants can be made available for interviews at the request of area media.”
