Russia Hates Ukraine Black Sea Grain Exports and Biden is Outraged

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The United States and European allies are preparing to send more fighter jet aircraft to Ukraine as a result of Russia’s halting of Ukraine’s Black Sea grain exports. Vice President Mike Pence called for stronger action against Russia and sanctions on Russia’s oil exports. Pence also called for better communication with Russia and Ukraine. Meanwhile, the Indian government is speaking to officials in both countries. About 700 Indian students are stranded in the Ukrainian city of Sumy.

The Russian government has suspended its participation in a UN-brokered deal that allows Ukraine to export grain from its blockaded ports. The UN spokesperson has warned both sides to avoid jeopardizing the deal. Earlier, the Russian government said that the drone attacks on the Ukrainian ships were largely repelled and that only one ship suffered damage. However, social media reports claim to show a fire in the Bay of Sevastopol.

Biden said, “This attack undermines the credibility of Russia’s commitment to the deal.” U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken also said the attack undermines the work of the U.N., Ukraine, and Turkey. He also emphasized that Russia is partly responsible for the global food crisis and must stop its aggression. Meanwhile, Ukraine has responded to the Russian airstrikes by launching rocket strikes at Russian-occupied river crossings.

President Zelensky of Ukraine has also called on the United States to impose a no-fly zone over Ukraine to prevent Russian airstrikes. In addition, Biden has said that if Russia continues its actions, the US could face a full-blown war in Europe.
