Reverence of Remembrance Is Building Block in New Business Playbook

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Welcome to the twenty eighth article in the series “Be the Leader You Aspire to Be” here on The Price of Business Show, where I will focus on the trends which lie ahead of us and how they will affect humans and businesses. The articles are based on my book Energetic Leadership, which talks about 9 trends leaders must navigate to cater for employees increasing demand for more spiritual leadership and sustainable business models aligned with their life purposes. These articles are about business leadership in the new era. I hope you will find inspiration for your own leadership and the leader you aspire to be.

The last articles have outlined 9 trends for business leadership and focused on authentic curiosity as a key competency for leaders to master. They have explained the concept of energy frequencies as the source of our true potential, followed by the alignment of the company’s purpose with the life purposes of employees and customers.

They have covered the 6-5 different generations currently working, focused on self-care and the ability to be present and what uncertainty was about and how to navigate in it. They have talked about the importance of intuition in decision-making and what a healthy economy and society are and how we all can improve democracy.

The articles have looked at customer journeys built on healthy energy and how intuition and resilience can improve productivity. They have been about the world as a mirror of how we are doing as multi-dimensional humans, what we do with true AI, how Change Management must change both in terms of timelines and content and the urgent need for a new Leadership Playbook linked to simple strategies which are about people first and foremost based on curiosity, consciousness and freedom and how we get there.

In this article I look at how reverence of remembrance is a building block in the new business playbook.

In a world driven by speed, chaos, disruption, and what’s next, it’s easy to forget what brought us here. But in the new business playbook, one timeless principle is finding its rightful place again: the reverence of remembrance.

This is not about clinging to the past. It’s about honoring it, deeply, consciously, and with gratitude. Because behind every bold decision, every innovative idea, and every business milestone is a trail of effort, vision, and people who made it possible.

To remember with reverence is to say: what came before still matters. It’s to recognize that the foundation of our present success is built on stories of courage, collaboration, failure, and growth. In the new era of leadership, remembering isn’t a soft skill, it’s a strength. And reverence is what turns memory into meaning when we dare to surrender to the true remembrance from our own inner self.

Modern leadership isn’t just about forecasting the future. It’s about staying rooted in truth. And one of the deepest truths is this: we didn’t get here alone. None of us did. There were mentors who lit the way. There were teams who stayed late when the dream was still unformed. There were values that held strong when everything else was uncertain.

When we lead with reverence of remembrance, we carry those truths forward not as weighted history, but as energetic wisdom. We build businesses with soul. We shape cultures that celebrate contribution.

In practical terms, remembrance can take many forms:

  • Taking a moment at a team gathering to honor how you succeeded
  • Reflecting on lessons learned
  • Being still – together
  • Designing rituals, traditions, or storytelling into the fabric of company culture

Leaders who honor the past become more powerful architects of the future. Why? Because they’re grounded. They lead not just with ambition, but with awareness. They don’t chase novelty for novelty’s sake—they innovate from a place of rooted clarity.

This reverence also sharpens focus. It helps teams stay aligned with core values in the face of change. It prevents drift. And it turns every new initiative into a continuation of a living story, not just a pivot.

So, now when purpose, integrity, and humanity are becoming non-negotiable, let reverence of remembrance be one of your most reliable guides.

Pause. Remember. Honor. Then lead forward.

Because in the end, remembrance doesn’t slow us down. It makes our steps more meaningful. It deepens our impact. It keeps us human amid the extraordinary.

And that, more than any trend or tool, is what will build businesses that truly last.

I name it ‘Energetic Leadership’ – to lead from command of remembrance.
