Welcome to the twenty seventh article in the series “Be the Leader You Aspire to Be” here on The Price of Business Show, where I will focus on the trends which lie ahead of us and how they will affect humans and businesses. The articles are based on my book Energetic Leadership, which talks about 9 trends leaders must navigate to cater for employees increasing demand for more spiritual leadership and sustainable business models aligned with their life purposes. These articles are about business leadership in the new era. I hope you will find inspiration for your own leadership and the leader you aspire to be.
The last articles have outlined 9 trends for business leadership and focused on authentic curiosity as a key competency for leaders to master. They have explained the concept of energy frequencies as the source of our true potential, followed by the alignment of the company’s purpose with the life purposes of employees and customers.
They have covered the 6-5 different generations currently working, focused on self-care and the ability to be present and what uncertainty was about and how to navigate in it. They have talked about the importance of intuition in decision-making and what a healthy economy and society are and how we all can improve democracy.
The articles have looked at customer journeys built on healthy energy and how intuition and resilience can improve productivity. They have been about the world as a mirror of how we are doing as multi-dimensional humans, what we do with true AI, how Change Management must change both in terms of timelines and content plus the urgent need for a new Leadership Playbook linked to simple strategies which are about people first and foremost based on curiosity, consciousness and freedom and how we get there.
In this article I look at how energetic surrender is like a gateway to more expansive leadership and focus.
In the world of leadership and business, we are often taught to strive, to drive results, and to maintain control at all costs. We’re told that success comes from willpower, strategy, and relentless effort. While these qualities are valuable, they’re not the whole story. In fact, many leaders find themselves burnt out—not because they aren’t doing enough, but because they’re holding on too tightly.
This is where the power of energetic surrender comes in.
Energetic surrender isn’t about giving up. It’s about giving over—to something deeper, wiser, and more aligned than the ego’s constant need for control. It means releasing the grip of over-efforting and opening to flow, clarity, and creative intelligence. When you surrender energetically, you make space. And in that space, consciousness expands.
Why does this matter for leadership and business? Because consciousness is the foundation of presence, vision, and authentic power. When you’re energetically contracted—trying to force outcomes, resisting uncertainty, or micromanaging, you narrow your focus. Your mind becomes busy, your body tense, and your intuition muted. But when you surrender, even slightly, you shift from contraction to openness. From survival mode to visionary mode.
Surrender allows you to access a different kind of clarity, the kind that doesn’t come from logic alone, but from deep inner alignment. You begin to feel what’s true, not just think about it. You’re more in tune with your values, your people, and the bigger picture. You make better decisions not because you’re pushing harder, but because you’re listening more deeply.
In practice, energetic surrender might look like:
- Taking a mindful pause before responding to a challenge.
- Trusting a team member to lead, even when you could do it faster yourself.
- Letting go of a business strategy that no longer feels aligned even if it once made perfect sense.
- Releasing the need to control every outcome and opening to new, unexpected possibilities.
The paradox is this: when you surrender, your focus sharpens. Not the frantic, tunnel-vision kind of focus but the kind that emerges from stillness. You know where to place your energy. You know what matters when to step forward and when to step back.
This isn’t passive leadership. This is active leadership at a higher level of consciousness.
It’s the shift from force to flow. It’s a deeper trust, a kind of reverence of remembrance not just in yourself, but in the natural intelligence of life. And when a leader embodies that trust, it ripples out. Teams feel safer. Cultures shift. Innovation flourishes. Business becomes not just profitable, but purposeful.
I name it ‘Energetic Leadership’ – to lead with consciousness of energy.
