The Gitte Madelaire Commentaries
Welcome to the fourteenth article in the series “Be the Leader You Aspire to Be” here on The Price of Business Show, where I will focus on the trends which lie ahead of us and how they will affect humans and businesses. The articles are based on my book Energetic Leadership, which talks about 9 trends leaders must navigate to cater for employees increasing demand for more spiritual leadership and sustainable business models aligned with their life purposes. These articles are about business leadership in the new era. I hope you will find inspiration for your own leadership and the leader you aspire to be.
The first article outlined 9 trends for business leadership and focused on authentic curiosity as a key competency for leaders to master. The second and third explained the concept of energy frequencies as the source of our true potential, followed by the alignment of the company purpose with the life purposes of employees and customers.
The fourth covered the 6-5 different generations currently working, the fifth focused on self-care and the ability to be present and the sixth was about uncertainty and how to navigate in it. The seventh talked about the importance of intuition in decision-making and the eighth, nineth and tenth articles were about what a healthy economy and society are and how we all can improve democracy. In the eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth articles we looked at customer journeys built on healthy energy and how intuition and resilience can improve productivity.
In the fourteenth article I reflect on what is happening on the political world arena after Donald Trump took over the presidency in the US in January 2025. We are seeing actions being taken domestically in the US and abroad at a very high speed. Taking actions is a good thing, if they are for the right reasons. Taking them fast can also be necessary if they are carried out with respect to the ones involved.
But I wonder if you can lead a country the same way as you lead a company. Should you be even more cautious and long-sighted than with private companies as you will have to look after the whole population, not just the ones that voted for you (employed by you)? As a leader of a country (and a company), you will have to bridge foresight with the energy of the people and align that with what is needed for the transformation of the public and commercial sectors. In addition, as a leader of a country you also have a role to play in the teamwork of the leadership of the world.
Here I see a big shift as if the rules of the “old” free world which was based on respect, trust and conversation is now a new world with no rules. Chaos can be okay for a short while when we give birth to something new and if it is founded and born from love.
As the world must be seen as a mirror of how we are doing, we are not well at all. We are suffering physically, mentally, spiritually, and relationally as humans. Nature is suffering from our misuse and economically we are making free trade, deals and collaboration even more difficult. And lastly, we can hardly be in a room and have an honest and open conversation as equals, anymore. That is sad.
So why has it come this far?
Is it because we have forgotten what teamwork is as we cannot sense who we truly are in a fast-paced world with too much media and SoMe?
Have we lost the bigger picture of why we are here on the Planet?
I think we have – we are too much in our heads and egos and need to get back on track and connect to our soul.
But there is HOPE!
HOPE is a strategy, and what employees are demanding according to Gallup’s recent survey along with trust.
We need to calm our nervous systems – both our own and the one in the organizations and countries – by daring to be brave and believe in who we truly are.
There are lots of people and business opportunities in creating a peaceful world as we still need lots of creativity and innovation to solve our massive issues. We can do it the new way which is much smarter and faster; I call it Energetic Leadership – that we lead our energy in a healthy way creating abundance and joy for the benefit of all.
