Living in Your Authentic Rhythm

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The Dr. Indhushree Rajan Commentaries

Authenticity and conscious living are about honoring your process–your life rhythm. Are you living from the outside-in or the inside-out?
Do you define and navigate your life path for yourself, or do others tend to tell you what to do and hold the reins of your life?

Are you living from a place of intrinsic self-worth, or are your choices in life directed by external approval, control, and validation? These are really important questions to consider.

We all have different things that impact us as we move through our daily routines, relationships, and careers.

Finding balance often entails accepting that you need to move at a pace or in a way that is unique to you and your needs–even if others don’t agree or understand your choices in this regard.
We live in a world that makes so many demands of us and often expects us to conform to others’ rules, ways, opinions, and customs. Well-meaning loved ones can be overbearing and stifling as well.

Adapting to or perhaps challenging these expectations, without losing our unique life rhythm is critical to finding balance and happiness in life. We cannot be–and shouldn’t be so beholden to a job, or a relationship, or life circumstance that we lose our sense of grounding; our sense of orienting to the world–our sense of self.

If you feel like you don’t have room for YOU in your day, it’s time to consider the life rhythm in which you are living. Give yourself some time and space to consider your needs, away from the push and pull of the people and circumstances around you. Take the time to connect with things that give you joy and bring meaning to your life.

Feeding body and mind is not enough. You need to feed your Soul. There is no one on this planet–in this Universe–like you. You are a unique imprint that can not be replicated. So listen for your own rhythms in life.

When people tell you what to do and how to do it, stop. Turn within first, and see if that advice aligns with what feels right to you. If you aren’t sure what your inner voice sounds like or how to follow your intuition, therapy and coaching can be great resources to help you do that. Are you ready to find real joy and fulfillment?
